WHO WE ARE

The Lapointafrique Foundation, a charitable organization, has as its mission to help people who are clearly in need of material, physical or educational assistance, who live in West Africa and in Burkina Faso in particular, and who, for one reason or another, have no access to any other resources. The Foundation's interventions are aimed at restoring their human dignity.

The Foundation will always help only those people who are within its reach and for whom it is morally certain that its interventions are necessary and appropriate to their situation. It does not replace existing humanitarian organizations, large or small, and does not help those who already have their support, even if it remains in close contact with them for various purposes such as participating in some of their activities and referring to them people whose needs are in line with one of their programs.

Our interventions are associated with urgent individual and family assistance and are intended to be flexible, rapid, effective and unmediated. Moreover, our interventions are not discriminatory in terms of race, color, sex, religion, culture, language, age or situation that caused the need for help.

The Lapointafrique Foundation will always be just a drop in the ocean of needs and emergencies for our disadvantaged brothers and sisters. We must believe that a drop of water is better than no drop at all.

By being in contact with people in great need, we can only do what we can ourselves and seek to associate ourselves with people who can contribute to alleviate this visible misery, even a little bit. These are the reasons for this new foundation. Our foothold and our network of contacts in Africa are the guarantee for a targeted and direct action. And the principles of transparent administration and genuine volunteerism for those involved guarantee that all funds raised will go to people in need.

We welcome all those who would like to join the Foundation as a director, volunteer, partner and/or friend.

What is Africa?
Africa is a continent that covers 6% of the Earth's surface and 20% of the land surface. It has a surface area of 30,415,873 km² including islands, which makes it the third largest continent in the world if we count America as a single continent.
